Our Catholic faith is built upon the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross, and we, “though many,” are held together by the truth and tradition which has guided us for millennia. Walls joined together with mortar, stone, brick, or wood cannot stand without a solid foundation. The original cornerstone for Saint Thomas More parish was laid in 1960, with its dedication occurring on December 9, 1961. An additional cornerstone was laid on the north front of the Cathedral. Inscribed in Latin, it reads: “Renovatio, A.D. MMXXIV.” It will serve as a reminder to all that as a people of faith, we are ever new yet constant in our foundation.
